Balavihar Sevak Training - Sep 2019

12 panchayats - 30 villages - 60 volunteers

Chinmaya Mission Thamaraipakkam conducted a training program for volunteers who are willing to conduct Balavihar classes in villages. 
They were taught how to take class, tell stories, chant slokas, conduct games, organise activities for children of grades 2 through 8.
They were also provided with teachers' guide for reference.
The sevaks also demonstrated a sample session as a group activity. 
The youngsters are empowered to be Balavihar teachers.

Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, the founder of Chinmaya Mission Worldwide (in 1951), consecrated Chinmaya Sarveshwara at Thamaraipakkam, Tiruvallur district in the year 1989. Since then, the center is serving the rural community through a charitable medical center and a free school named Harihara Vidyalaya. In 2005, with the blessings of Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda and the guidance of CORD National team at Sidhbari, Shri P.N.Kannan started the rural development work in Tiruvallur district.  From 2013 December, CORD was further reaching out to more villages and empowerment programs, under the able leadership of Smt.Priya Arunachalam.
