Yajna at Tirupachur

August 25th – 30th, 2019 Jnana Yajna by Sw Anuttamananda ji (Chinmaya Mission Karur) at Tirupachur, Jai Maruthi Vidyalaya. The 6-day yajna in Thamizh on Shivapuranam was attended by more than 100 devotees. It was well received by the locals.

Drug Demand Reduction program

Drug Demand Reduction program was conducted by Smt.Shanthi Krishnamoorthy, Director of CCMT Education Cell for the children of Std 8 to 10. This awareness program is done in collaboration with Ministry of Social Justice. The program was also attended by the CORD staff and Village Volunteer Resource Persons from the nearby villages served by CORD. Students were given a questionnaire which made them think about the ill effects of drugs and their level of knowledge on the effects of drugs in personal and social life. Supported by Power point presentation and videos, Smt.Shanthi ji made the children aware of evil situations being faced by people in the society due to drugs.

Potential to Performance - a youth workshop

August 25th A motivational workshop by Sw Anukoolananda for the youngsters to identify their potential and be successful. The workshop was attended by 45 youngsters and was participatory & interactive.

Krishna Janmashtami celebrations

Shri Krishna Kanhaiya Lal Ki…..Jaiiii !!! Reverberated all over Chinmaya Sarveshwara ashram for the whole day on the occasion of Gokulashtami Celebrations by Harihara Vidalaya Children. All children came in traditional clothes and celebrated the birth of Lord Krishna in their own way. Movie on Lord Krishna was shown to children from classes 2,3 &4. Children from Std 10, conducted Uri Adi (Dahi handi utsav) for classes 5 & 6. Std 9 children decorated a palenquin for the blue boy. Students of Std 6, 7 & 8 took part in Rangoli competition and madethe floor colourful with various lilas of Krishna. Finally the procession took off with KG children dressed up and arrayed as Krishna and Radha. Children sang and danced all the way in mirth. The program concluded with Puja and Mangala Arati.

Arupadai veedu yatra

August 10th to 13th, 2019 168 members - 20 panchayats A yatra for the villagers in & around Thamaraipakkam was organised by Chinmaya Sarveshwara. The CSK team (Chinmaya SethuKaari) took lead in the planning and execution of this yatra. Hemanathan and Vadivelan deserve a special mention for the happy and memorable yatra. The villagers who participated in this yatra had the darshan of Lord Muruga in all the 6 houses. They also learnt about sanatana dharmam & glory of Hindu culture from Sw Ramakrishnanda ji & Sw Sakalanandaji who also traveled along. Everyday there were bhajans, puja and satsang . BHARATHIYAM - Inter College Culturals

16th Inter college culturals program 10th Aug 2019, Saturday. 10 Colleges - 35 volunteers - 300 Students - 10 events Theme BHARATHIYAM - The true spirit of India Events - Singing, dance, quiz, skit, streetplay, mime, yoga, paper presentation, drawing, talent expo. This annual event held around Independence day every year paves the way for showcasing youth potential and inculcating love and pride for our Bharath. Organised by chyks, volunteering by pre chyks and HHV teachers. Thanks to all volunteers, judges and well-wishers Jai Hind!

Vaseeshwarar Temple cleaning

On August 3rd, Pujya Gurudev’s samadhi day, 60 youngsters from Thamaraipakkam village took up the cleaning work of Vaseeshwarar Temple situated at Tirupachur, Tiruvallur district. The temple is 2000 years old and is built by Karikala chozhan. The seva instilled a sense of responsibility in the young minds in protecting the grand heritage handed over to us through many generations. The work was initiated and accomplished by the CSK (Chinmaya Sethukari) and CHYK (Chinmaya Yuva Kendra) wing of Chinmaya Mission. Om Shri mandhiroddhaarakaya namaha. (Salutations to the one who renovated dilapidated temples).
