  Note   Currently weekend Bhagavad Gita Summary classes are going on. Once that is over, Upanishads classes will resume.  Upanishad classes started on August 3rd, 2020. So far the below mentioned Upanishads have been discussed in detail, along with Shankara-baashyam.  IshavAsya upanishad,  kEnOpanishad and  MundakOpanishad Chandogya Upanishad   Classes are conducted every Monday, Wednesday & Friday. Timing: 6.45 am to 7.25 am Medium of communication is  Thamizh The upanishads are the foundation of Vedanta. The Chandogya Upanishad is one of the ten major upanishads. It is a very comprehensive work covering a variety of topics like various forms of worship and meditation, the theory of creation, the path to liberation etc. The range of topics covered makes it interesting and complete, benefiting a variety of seekers. Arunachalam Viswanathan Schooling in Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Chennai. BE Computer Science from Madras University,  Software Engineer with Tata Consultancy Services.  Deputed to USA for official reasons.  During this period, he got associated with Chinmaya Mission centre at Columbus, Ohio and started attending the weekly lectures, jnana yagnas and camps. He also started volunteering during weekends in activities like Balavihar, organizing camps, development of websites, etc.  In due course he along with his wife Smt. Priya Arunachalam desiring to delve deep into the study of scriptures, with the blessings of Pujya Guruji completed the 2 year Vedanta course in Sandeepany Sadhanalaya ashram in Mumbai. Following this, they were blessed by Pujya Guruji with the opportunity to serve at the Chinmaya mission ashram at Thamaraipakkam, a village 40 kms Northwest of Chennai. Having earned a Master's in Computer Science from Miami University, Oxford, Smt Priya Arunachalam worked with JP Morgan & Chase, a muti-national bank for 5 years in Columbus, Ohio. It was then with the association of Chinmaya Mission Columbus she started attending the spiritual study classes and volunteering for social causes.  Inspired by Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinmayanandaji and desiring to delve deep into the study of scriptures, she and her husband gave up their lucrative jobs in the USA and completed the 2 year Vedanta course in Chinmaya mission ashram, Mumbai. Following this, with the blessings of Pujya Guruji, they are now serving at Thamaraipakkam village.  Currently, she plays the role of Director for CORD (Chinmaya Organisation for Rural Development), taking care of rural development activities in and around Thamaraipakkam. Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, the founder of Chinmaya Mission Worldwide (in 1951), consecrated Chinmaya Sarveshwara at Thamaraipakkam, Tiruvallur district in the year 1989. Since then, the center is serving the rural community through a charitable medical center and a free school named Harihara Vidyalaya. In 2005, with the blessings of Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda and the guidance of CORD National team at Sidhbari, Shri P.N.Kannan started the rural development work in Tiruvallur district.  From 2013 December, CORD was further reaching out to more villages and empowerment programs, under the able leadership of Smt.Priya Arunachalam. The Rural development wing of Chinmaya Mission (CORD), distributed 1 month provision to the very poor affected by lock-down. 24 people have been benefited. This was donated by Rotary club of Madras Midtown. Special thanks to Rtn. Shri Keshavan ji and Rtn President Anup Raj Gauni ji for facilitating this.

Murugavel panniru Thirumurai

We know that Thiru Nambi AndAn Nambi had compiled the songs on Lord Shiva into 12 as panniru thirumaraigal which have about 18,300 songs sung by various adiyArgal. Similarly Thiru SengalvarAya pillai compiled the songs on Lord Muruga into 12 as Murugavel Panniru Thirumurai. As a humble effort to popularize these simple, melodious and heart rendering devotional songs on Muruga Kadavul, Chinmaya Sarveshwara Thamaraipakkam is uploading a series of these compilations. Each video has one song from each Thirumurai. By Thaipoosam we hope to be able to render 144 hymns on Kanda Kadavul.
